Information about the Mapleton Church.

The Mapleton Evangelical Lutheran Church is surrounded by the Osnaburg Township cemetery and is the resting place of Jacob Shearer, the only Revolutionary War soldier to be buried in Osnaburg Township. The current building dates from 1891. It was presented to The Osnaburg Historical Society in 1977 when the congregation became too small to keep the church. Since that time the building has served as a meeting place and currently houses museum items from the community.
